N24 Cahir To Limerick Junction & Oola Transport Project Design Update No. 3

Tipperary County Council is progressing the development of the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction & Oola Transport Project in partnership with Limerick City & County Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the Department of Transport. Arup are the appointed Technical Advisors to advance the project through the planning and design phases. The project is being managed by the Mid West National Road Design Office on behalf of Tipperary County Council. The project is a priority investment in the Government’s National Development Plan 2021-2030.

CCTV to Prevent, Detect and Prosecute Breaches of the Waste Management and Litter Pollution Acts

Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) intend to install CCTV for the sole purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and to enforce the Litter Pollution Act 1997 and the Waste Management Act 1996. This initiative will adhere to the Codes of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection and Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences. This action is being taken in accordance with Aim 3.2 of the LCCC Litter Management Plan 2023-2026.

Limerick City And County Council (Castletroy Link Road) Compulsory Purchase Order 2025

Limerick City and County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the local authority”) in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 76 of the Housing Act, 1966, and the Third Schedule thereto, as extended by section 10 of the Local Government (No. 2) Act, 1960 as substituted by Section 86 of the Housing Act, 1966, as amended by Section 6 and the Second Schedule to the Roads Act, 1993 and as amended by the Planning and Development Acts, 2000 to 2022, has made an order entitled as above which is about to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála (hereafter “The Board”) for confirmation.

CLÁR 2025 SCHEME

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has announced €11 million in funding for community and sports facilities nationwide under the 2025 CLÁR Programme. The CLÁR programme (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) provides funding for small scale infrastructural projects in identified CLÁR areas that have suffered significant levels of population decline.
